The PGSSC Global Surgery Research Seminar is a public seminar series which aims to share methods and results across a broader surgery research community. Over the course of ten seminars, our goal is to strengthen general knowledge and specific skills by learning from the experience of our seminar speakers.

Telesurgery and Teleproctoring in Global Surgery
In our next seminar in our Global Surgery Research series we will be hearing from Dr Linda Zhang and Dr Shady Saikali on Telesurgery and Teleproctoring. We will be learning how remote communications and remote operating can support Global Surgery.

Social Media and Global Surgery
In this months seminar we are looking forward to hosting three experts who will be discussing the role of Social Media in Global Surgery; Drs Dadson and Umutoni will be discussing their work on Youtube and Dr Navarro will be discussing the influence of social media more generally. Please join us for what promises to be a topical and insightful look into this topic.

Colonialism in Global Surgery
We will be kicking off our seminar series by hearing from two experts in the domains of colonialism in global surgery. How does a colonial legacy affect research and training today? How can we be mindful of a colonial legacy in academia. Moderated by Barnabus Alayande, Assistant Professor of Global surgery at UGHE.
